Problem
NOVA would like to replace pro-rated annual membership terms with a rolling membership term throughout the website and the existing membership data must be kept during the migration. Additionally, NOVA determines the role for each user based on their corresponding membership, term and the payments associated with it, these roles are in use for global Access Control Lists for both the Forums and Document Library and may be further restricted as desired.
Solution
Used managed hosting for new development environment; planed to have it become production when ready. Created a WPEngine account and setup a WPE NOVA instance, with a clean core. Added our whitelisted plugins. Setup git deployment for the refactored theme. Customize configurations and set up SSL / HTTPS. Migrated old site’s database to new site.
